The Valmarana family welcomes you to La Rotonda, one of Andrea Palladio’s greatest works of art. You’re welcome to explore the villa’s interior and its surrounding gardens during opening hours. You can do this in a number of ways: independently, with one of our expert guides, or even with our family members. Special tours and tailored events can be arranged upon request.

What you need to know

The Valmarana family welcomes you to La Rotonda, one of Andrea Palladio’s greatest works of art. You’re welcome to explore the villa’s interior and its surrounding gardens during opening hours. You can do this in a number of ways: independently, with one of our expert guides, or even with our family members. Special tours and tailored events can be arranged upon request.



Opening Times

The Rotonda is open to the public during normal visiting times, in March and November (Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 12.30pm / 2.30 pm – 5pm), from April to October (Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 10am – 12pm / 3pm – 6pm). 

The opening season ends on Sunday, December 10th and the Villa will reopen on Saturday, March 16th.

Private tours can be arranged outside visiting hours.

Both gardens and interiors are open to the public on the following national holidays: Easter Monday, April 25th, May 1st, June 2nd, August 15th and November 1st. We’re closed on Easter Sunday, December 25th, 26th and 31st, January 1st and 6th.

Last Entry to the villa is 15 minutes before closing time on any given day.



Tickets

Entry Fee: € 10 per person

Entry fee reduced to 5: minors between the ages of 7-14 accompanied by a parent.

Free entry: all children under 6; the third child below 14 years, if accompanied by a parent; Italian and foreign guides upon showing Tourist Guide ID Card; wheelchair users (with physical disabilites).

There is no need to pre-book ordinary visits. At the entrance we accept cash and card payments; the ticket office closes 15 minutes before closing time.

Entry fee reduced to 10 for minors between the ages of 7-14 years accompanied by a parent.

Free entry:

Reservation required at least 15 days in advance, please write a WhatsApp message to 351 7922118. The tour starts with at least 10 people.

School groups (students up to 18 years): 15% discount (ONLY UPON RESERVATION) for visiting classes. For every 25 students, 2 free professors (visit to the interior and exterior).



Pre booked tours

Villa “La Rotonda” is open for pre booked tours throughout the year (except Mondays)

This is a private tour of the noble floor and of the gardens (without a guide). Groups of 12 people and under can purchase a collective ticket for the price of €300 ; larger groups can purchase individual tickets for the price of €25.

This private tour includes a visit to the villa’s noble floor, gardens, foundations and the Monumental Kitchen (without a guide). Groups of 15 people or less can purchase a collective ticked for the price of €600; larger groups can purchase individual tickets for the price of €40.

Private tour of the gardens and the noble floor accompanied by the landowners. Groups of 15 people or less can purchase a collective ticket for the price of €600; larger groups can purchase individual tickets for the price of €40. Preferred tour slots: 9am, 12pm, 2pm and 6pm.

Getting here

  • Take the Milan-Venice A4 motorway, turn off at Vicenza Est and head towards Riviera Berica. 
  • Via della Rotonda is a residential area; illegally parked cars could be fined or removed by local authorities: pay attention to the local parking regulations.  
  • Taxi (Radiotaxi Vicenza +39 (0)444 920600), around €10 from Vicenza Railway Station.
  • From Vicenza Railway Station, on Viale Venezia 14/b, Vicenza. 
  • Bus number 8 towards Debba or Lumignano, from Viale Venezia (in front of the Railway Station) at Riviera (in front of the petrol station).
  • The Villa is a 30 minute walk from Vicenza Railway Station and a 6 minute walk from both the Riviera Berica and the service station car park.
  • Bicycles can be rented at the Railway Station: https://www.comune.vicenza.it/vicenza/muoversi/enviparkstazione.php
  • You can take the Fogazzaro Roi Stage 1 or Stage 2 paths through the city centre to catch a glimpse of other monuments on your way here.


Accessibility

Unfortunately, the interior of the villa is not accessible to wheelchair users due to the large steps, typical of Palladian architecture.  Access to the garden is also restricted for wheelchair users due to the gravel paths. However, we do welcome wheelchair users (with physical disabilities) to visit the external part of the villa for free. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us for further information regarding accessibility.

Pet friendly in the garden. Small size dogs are allowed inside if held in your arms or in their transport box.

Bookshop

Bookshop

The bookshop, located in the ‘barchessa’ of the villa, is open from March to December, during opening hours. There may be some exceptions.

The bookshop is an essential stop at the end of each visit. Here you’ll find books about Palladio and the villa, posters, gadgets, stationery, clothing and local handmade products, honey, pasta, biscuits and flour produced with crops harvested at the Rotonda. Take away with you the memories of your visit to the Rotonda.
